Music On The Hill Concert Series
The Music on the Hill Concert Series welcomes The Milkman’s Kids for a free outdoor
concert on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Barrington,
6 Brinker Road, Barrington, Illinois. Grounds open at 5:30 p.m. for picnicking on the lawn
before an evening of the band’s signature “new takes on old tunes,” blending grass and
fiddle tunes with folk, country, pop, rock, and jazz in a relaxed, crowd-pleasing style.
Featuring John Dillon, Jon Platt, and Gordon Krauspe, The Milkman’s Kids have built a
devoted local following through appearances across the suburbs and a warm, inviting
approach that brings the community together through music.
About The Milkman’s Kids
The Milkman’s Kids have been making waves since they started a few years back.
They’ve got a loyal following because they keep delivering a steady stream of great
tunes from all sorts of genres. From old-timey grass and fiddle tunes to folk, country,
pop, rock, and jazz, they call it “new takes on old tunes.” Basically, they follow the music
wherever it takes them. People love their laid-back and comfortable vibe. The band
consists of John Dillon on mandolin, mandola, and mandocello; Jon Platt on harmonica,
flute, and penny whistle; and Gordon Krauspe on guitar and vocals. You can catch them
at many of the local suburban venues, such as Geneva Winery, Miskatonic Brewery in
Darien and Naperville, Wine and Cheese in Plainfield, Whiskey Acres in DeKalb, and at
your local farmers markets. The Milkman’s Kids are all about bringing the joy of music
to their community and inviting you to join them on this musical journey.
