Children's Ministry

Children in Worship

Intergenerational Worship is an important aspect in the life of this church. It encourages active participation from all ages and stages; from the youngest to the oldest and everyone in between.

At PCB we don’t expect children to sit still and be quiet. Children should be heard and seen. They should ask questions, wiggle their bodies when needed, cry, sing, read scripture, and lead. After all, Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” – Matthew 19:14.

We know this isn’t always easy on the parents though, so we are here for you. If you or your child just needs to step out for a moment, that’s OK. Please feel free to use the parlor (out the sanctuary doors and to the left) or the nursery room (out the sanctuary doors, down the stairs and to the right) if you or your child needs a break. Both spaces are available for your use. If you need assistance, our ushers are here to guide you.

Bathrooms are located in both directions as you leave the sanctuary and downstairs. Bathrooms near Fellowship Hall are equipped with changing tables. There is a rocking chair in the woman’s lounge to your right. Fellowship Hall, it is another great place to go. There may even be coffee brewing!

Family Ministry

Throughout the year the Christian Education team will provide opportunities for our families to gather together for learning and fun. Breakfast with Jesus, a Pentecost picnic, Halloween/Reformation, and an Advent celebration to name a few. We will also add ice cream socials, movie nights and other fellowship times to the calendar to facilitate a community that you and your children look forward to being part of.

Sunday School – PreK–5 Grade

The children gather in worship weekly and then gather for Sunday School during our 11:15-11:45 Faith Formation time, during which we will explore the scripture using art, movement, games, discussion, science, and more. Sunday School runs September- the 2nd Sunday in June.
