About Habitat for Humanity

The Presbyterian Church of Barrington has been helping to provide/improve shelter for families in need through the Habitat for Humanity Northern Fox Valley affiliate for over 20 years. We do this by providing financial support to HFHNFV as one of PCB’s target missions, by providing volunteers to help during days of construction, and by providing prayer support for this great work.

Our Women Build For Habitat Team

Our church will once again have a team of women helping build a home with Habitat For Humanity.  We welcome any women of the church, whether church members or not, to join our team. All tools and equipment were supplied on the build site, as well as professional instruction and supervision.  Lunch was provided, as was water throughout the day.  This is always really rewarding and fun experience for our team!  Susan Thiess (847-989-9280) and Audrey Helminiak (847-331-3621) aud2sell@comcast.net 

Funding our Women Build For Habitat Team

Habitat raises money with this program by requiring all teams to raise a minimum donation amount.  Our minimum donation as a church team is $2500.  If you would like to help our team, there are 3 ways to do it:  
– you can write a check (payable to Habitat For Humanity; in the memo line: PCB Women Build Team) and drop it in our team donation box in Fellowship Hall
– you can put cash in an envelop and drop it in our donation box (donations slips are on the table by the box)
– you can donate online at:  www.givebutter.com/WomenBuildNFV25.  Click on the Donate link on the upper right side, then select our PCB team on the following page. 
Currently, there are matching funds available for all the teams to benefit from until the funds are gone, so the sooner you donate, the more likely your donation will be matched!

Our next Habitat For Humanity work dates are Saturdays, May 9 and 16, 2026, from 8:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Interested in helping?
