September 30th – Making it easy for your family to take over management of your finances, property, memorial, and funeral: Stressing the importance of writing everything down and keeping everything in one place.
October 7th – Communicating your wishes about how and where you want to die so that they are carried out: How to hold a candid and frank discussion about your quality of life vs. your quantity of life and assuring that your family acts with your wishes in mind. Making sure that the proper documents are in place. Understanding hospice and palliative care.
September 30 – David Alms, a Trust Attorney from Hoffman Estates will cover issues such as trusts to avoid probate and making asset transitions easy. David received his B./A. Degree from Northwestern in 1974 and his Juris Doctor degree from John Marshall Law School in 1977. His law practice specializes in Estate Planning, Probate, Taxation, Business and Real Estate matters. Pastor Joe will cover the spiritual side of death, memorials, and funerals.
October 7 – Mary Helen Ekstam – Life Learning Advocate – JourneyCare, Barrington. Mary Helen’s full-time job is explaining these issues to individuals, families, churches, and other groups. She has spoken to our Stephen Ministers and gets rave reviews.
