Deacon’s Article by Susan Zentz
After my church closed three years ago, I decided to take my time finding another congregation to join. I visited many different churches in the area, small, large and too large! The reason I kept returning to PCB was not only the warm welcome I received, it was also the genuine caring you showed for each other and our community.
Shortly after joining I was asked to become a Deacon. I’ll admit my response was to say I didn’t think I was ready since I didn’t know many members of the congregation. The response I received was, “as a Deacon you will quickly meet many more members.” This has certainly been the case and it has also led to my involvement in several community missions sponsored by our church.
The Nominating Committee has been meeting to replace Deacons, Elders and Trustees. Please consider how you can be the hands of Jesus in our church and community, for we are indeed a Mathew 25 congregation.
