June is a month of transitions. The erratic temperatures of spring give way to the steady warmth of summer. We celebrate the accomplishments of our students at graduations from preschool to post graduate degrees. We are proud of each success and anticipate the future – a new grade, a new school, a new job. We look forward to summer. Life is more easy going though often not any less busy. There are summer activities, camps, and vacations.
In the church we transition as well. The choir takes a well-deserved rest after a fabulous year of music. We are so blessed to have so many talented people in our midst. Our snowbirds return for the summer enjoying the beauty and friendships of the Barrington area. Our church services are more casual. The faces in the congregation change from week to week as families go about the business of summer.
We know that as well as all the joys of summer, some may be experiencing issues that are difficult and painful. God is with all who are in need. Your ministers, your deacons, and your church family want to be with you also. Jesus has taught us to love one another for love comes from God. We want to share God’s love with you. Please share your concerns with us.
Whatever you are doing this summer, or wherever you may go, this is my blessing for each of you:
From the glowing burst at sunrise
And all the daylight through
May the beauty of the world
Be a blessing to you.
May the gentle touch of springtime
And summer’s bright array
Embrace you with their cheerfulness
As they color every day.
