The Barrington Presbyterian Women’s organization has thrived in this church for over 40 years. Every woman in our congregation is a member. We organize fellowship events, have two Bible studies, a book club and have started a Shawl Ministry. We have held spiritual retreats, both away and in house. When asked, we can help with memorial receptions large and small. The Wednesday before Easter we have our Lenten Breakfast and are proud of our Christmas Benefit where we have raised over $10,000 each year to support our mission projects.
The Missions we support are:
- Christopher House, including Family to Family, Taps
- Home of the Sparrow
- FISH of Barrington and Carpentersville
- Elgin Crisis Center
- Good Samaritan Counseling Center
- Center for Changing Lives
- Hope Fund and the Youth Mission Trip
We also donate our time to help with many programs at Christopher House, home of the Sparrow and Sunnyhill School. We formally meet six times a year and have added a monthly newsletter that makes every woman in our congregation aware of upcoming events and ways to be involved. In the past several years our numbers have decreased to a small core group who remain faithful to leading our programs and events.
