Mission Trip 2007:Welch West Virginia

WV Ministry of Advocacy and Workcamps
Welch Mission Site

Check out our daily blog!

Sixteen youth in grades 8th through 12th and six adults will travel to Welch, West Virginia on Saturday June 9 and return Sunday June 17th to do mission work on behalf of the Presbyterian Church of Barrington.

Our group will be leading vacation Bible school each day and building wheelchair ramps at two different sites for elderly ladies in McDowell County, as well as performing other various home improvement work. Welch, a remote town near the Appalachian Mountains, was once prosperous during the coal mine boom in the early 1900s but has since become poverty stricken. With a high unemployment rate it is one of the poorest counties in the United States.

Please keep our mission group in your prayers and stay in touch by viewing photos and journal entries of their activities posted on our website throughout the week.
