| We have learned that
visitors often find it difficult to understand the special uniqueness of any
church by only attending worship services. For this reason, we created this
section to provide the information most often sought by families and
individuals who are looking for the right church to join so their spiritual
growth flows and strengthens. |

Which Worship
Service should I visit?
We offer two worship services on
Sundays to better accommodate a busy lifestyle. They are held at 9:00 AM and
11:00 AM following the Reformed order for Presbyterian worship. On the first
Sunday of each month Holy Communion is celebrated at both services. During
the longer summer days of June through Labor Day, we have only one service
at 9:00 AM. Christmas and Easter offer a variety of services and educational
programs. Please check for holiday service hours on the home page or by
calling the church office.
Our children’s education
programs operate during the 9:00 a.m. service. If you have children, they
will be able to participate with dozens of young children in our Time with
Young Disciples prior to their departure from the sanctuary at the 9:00 AM
worship service for Sunday school classes.

What is special about
your children’s education program?
An innovative children’s education
teaching method, called the Workshop Rotation, originated in our church and
is now used by churches all over the country. The Workshop Rotation model
is designed to help children learn through a variety of pathways. The
Bible-based curriculum uses drama, art, computers, cooking, audio-visual,
storytelling, games, puppetry, and music to begin teaching the children
about God’s love and plan for them. We even have a curio cabinet with
different religious artifacts. Colorful artwork, painted onto the walls of
the hallways also serves as an educational tool.
There is a colorful nursery
and toddler room abundant with toys to entertain preschoolers. We have a
youth lounge for our teenagers to include a TV with DVD player, a pool
table, a pinball machine, soda dispenser and a foosball table. All of our
children and youth education classes are found on the lower level of the
church. Feel free to explore all levels of the church building facilities!

How can I/we get
involved and meet people?
There are a variety of ways to
quickly get “plugged in” and meet people. We recommend that you consider
the following groups:

|
|
For Adults – ChristCare Small Groups
The earliest Christians met in home
churches where members worshiped God, cared for one another, and continually
reached out to bring in others. ChristCare groups follow this historical
mode. Each group is a gathering of 3-12 people that meets twice each month
for the purpose of mutual care and encouragement, prayer and worship,
practical study that relates the Bible to everyday life, and service to
others. A trained leader who received ongoing support and supervision leads
each group. ChristCare groups are open to everyone, regardless of church
membership.

For Children - Wednesday Night Live
Each Wednesday night, our children who are in kindergarten through eighth
grade meet at the church for fun, fellowship, and a meal. They also learn
through group singing, a musical selection that may be performed during
Sunday worship. This is a great way for your children to meet other
children.

For All -
Social Opportunities,
For Adults, Children, and Families
The Fellowship Committee plans events to promote social interaction among
adults, children, and families in our church. Our events are open to church
visitors, prospective members, friends, and neighbors as well, offering an
open, inviting atmosphere. Join us for a meeting or two to check us out, or
just jump right in. The time commitment is minimal. The fun and fellowship
is never ending! Fellowship = Friendship!
We usually meet on the
first Saturday of the month in the home of one of our members. Each
person/family brings food to share and a favorite beverage. You are not
required to host any meetings. Fabulous food and good conversation are
guaranteed. The meetings are fellowship events in themselves! Babysitters
are provided, so bring the kids! Call our church office for details.

Mission
Each year more than 20% of our total
expenditures is given to over 20 mission programs. Our largest mission
initiative is the supporting of Nueva Esperanza Urban Youth Ministries. Our
support to this organization in Chicago allows about a dozen teenagers to
attend St. Gregory’s High School to receive a formal education and other
forms of support. Many of these graduates have gone on to college with
honors. Volunteer mentors for these youth are often needed.

Stephen Ministry
Stephen ministry is a lay ministry that helps those facing life's
difficulties receive Christian love and support through one-to-one
confidential caring relationships. Stephen Ministers are members of our
congregation who have been specially trained to support people in need.
Grounded in Jesus' command to love one another, the ministry is named after
the biblical Stephen who was the first to offer Christ's love to those in
need (Acts 6:1-7).
To date, we have trained
and commissioned thirty Stephen Ministers and have one of the largest
programs in the area.
