Advent AngelAdvent Dinner      ^top

Sunday, December 4, 2005 at 5:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.

We’ll begin with punch and Christmas carols, followed by a “pot luck” dinner and ornament exchange. You may sign up to attend the Advent Dinner in Fellowship Hall after services. The cost for the evening will be $6.00 per adult and $3.00 for children 3-12. Children under 3 are free. The maximum any family will pay is $20. The main dish and beverages will be provided. Each family attending the dinner is asked to bring a dish to pass in a disposable container to serve 8.

If your last name begins with A-L, please bring a salad.
If your last name begins with M-Z, please bring a side dish, hot and ready to serve.

Please bring one ornament per family for an ornament exchange. The program will be provided by the Barrington Children’s Choir. If you have any questions about this event, you may contact Nancy Bohren.

Fall Food DriveFall Food Drive         ^top

November 13th, 2005 is your last chance to pick up a grocery bag for the Fall Food Drive. Please return filled bags by November 20.  The food collected will distributed to the FISH Food Pantry in Carpentersville and Christopher House in Chicago. On Monday, November 21, volunteers are needed to pack Food Baskets at Christopher House. Please contact Sally Kilham or Sally Hilgendorf if you can help.

The Food Drive is being conducted this fall by the ChristCare Small Group Leaders Class as that class’s “missional service.”  Missional service in ChristCare means that each ChristCare group reaches out in some way with Christ’s love to meet the needs of people outside the group. Part of the training of the future small group leaders is to engage in such service as a class. For more information, contact Gerry Nadig.
