Caring Hearts – Faithful Servants

Why join a small group?  Think of the last group that you really enjoyed.  What was it like?  Didn’t you get to know others really well?  Didn’t you work together on a common, meaningful project?  Didn’t you develop skills you hadn’t known you had?  A ChristCare group is organized around a common purpose, or a shared circumstance, or a simple desire to be a group.  The activities of the group are structured to build community, to stimulate spiritual growth, and to develop and use personal gifts and skills in outreach and service to others.  Want to join one?  Contact Chip Kyle, Karen Tobin, or Dan Spike at 847-381-0975,  if you want more information or are interested in starting or joining a ChristCare small group.

July 4th FlagsCome Join the Barrington July 4 Parade!    ^top

The 2005 Barrington Area CROP WALK Committee invites you and your friends to join us in marching in the Barrington 4th of July parade. The parade steps off at 10:00 a.m. from the Barrington High School parking lot. We plan to have a grocery cart brigade and can use lots of cart pushers and kazoo blowers. Please arrive at 8:30 a.m. so we can practice. It will be fun and remind our communities that the 2005 CROP WALK will be held this year on Sunday, October 16.
Please contact Barbara Schwartz.

Relay for Life Update:

Dear Church Family—

Thank you for your support for the Barrington Relay for Life. It was a resounding success, raising $356,000 toward the fight against cancer.

Our church team raised a little over $1000 (so far); Cathy, Heather & Stacy Layne, and Tia Franklin stayed out all night on the track; and many of you were out representing other teams.

For next year, I am looking to get 4 adults to join the walk for the graveyard shift (rather than 3 children and 1 adult); to encourage our church family make their contributions to the Relay through our church team(s); and to have our cancer survivors (including those battling it now) join us for the survivor events at the track. It is quite a moving experience, and a touching way to remember those who have battled cancer.

Please do contact me with ideas and suggestions for next year’s Relay. There is no better way to get out the word that our church is truly a blessing!

Love, Mari Franklin
